Spacelink services

This is a key facility within the Spacelink Learning Service. It will provide or procure a range of services to enable teachers and members of the public to make effective use of the various parts of the Spacelink Service:-
 
TS1 - Registration of Customers (including payment of fees)
 
TS2 - Customer Help Service to assist members of the public and registered customers who seek advice, information and other support from the Foundation
 
TS3 - Teachers’ Exchange covering case studies of use of space-related teaching and learning materials in schools submitted by teachers
 
TS4 - Teachers’ Chat Room to enable teachers to feedback to Spacelink their comments on the Services and to submit suggestions and proposals for new resources
 
TS5 - The provision of easily-navigable links through to other websites seen to have value in supporting Spacelink-based learning
 
TS6 - The “How Do I Get?” Programme to meet the needs of teachers for an easy-to-use source of where they can find, and then get, the education space and satellite information that they need most often.
 
TS7 - Spacelink Mail Order Shop which will stock or procure, take orders for and mail items out to customers
 
TS8 - All essential systems needed to support the Spacelink website and its related services, e.g. user registration, user helplines and mail order shop for teachers, to be accessed via the website.
 
It also has a key co-ordinating role which includes providing the general-purpose software needed for customers’ PCs and any other ancillary work and equipment which may be needed to bring Spacelink learning resources into full operational service.
