BECOME A SPONSOR

Now is the time to join us in helping to establish the Spacelink Learning Service..!

As outlined earlier the Spacelink Learning Service will offer many benefits for students, teachers and schools, as well as for society in general. By agreeing to sponsor the Spacelink initiative, you can help to ensure the early development of the service and later enhancements, whilst receiving appropriate recognition of your contribution via our website and other channels. As the Spacelink Learning Foundation is a registered charity, donations made to it by UK tax paying entities or individuals would normally be deductible for tax purposes. Under the Gift Aid Scheme, donations from individuals currently receive relief at the tax payer's top tax rate.

Here are just a few of the pressing reasons why the time is right to support this unique and compelling educational initiative:

  • The need to raise interest and achievement in science and mathematical subjects in secondary schools has been recognised by the UK Government in the nature and number of initiatives recently instigated.

  • The annual ‘Science Year’ continues to generate unprecedented interest in science amongst parents, teachers, children and young people, but is now in need of follow through with initiatives, in order to fully exploit this interest in the classroom.

  • Although there is a growing array of materials on space and satellites available on the internet from agencies such as NASA and the European Space Agency, the potential to use space to educate students about other subjects remains largely untapped.

  • The Spacelink Initiative has been designed specifically to address this situation through providing teachers with the means to motivate many more students towards science and engineering, together with new, more powerful ways of learning such subjects.

If you are interested in sponsoring all or part of one of the modules of the Spacelink Learning Service development, or would simply like to register your interest in participating in the project as Spacelink makes space data and related educational materials available, please let us know by E-mail (n.white@spacelink.org ) or by post to our correspondence address at:
